Class Experience
Come join us as we write our letters to Santa Claus and get into the holiday spirit in this one-week flex class! We will use our imagination and creativity as we write out letters while making new friends at the same time. We will cover various topics every day for one week (Monday-Friday), with a new video on Monday, Thursday, and Friday! 1. Historical Understanding: Students will gain knowledge about the history and cultural significance of writing letters to Santa Claus. They will understand how the tradition has evolved over time and across different cultures. 2. Letter Writing Skills: Students will learn the basics of effective letter writing, including structure, tone, and content. They will practice expressing their thoughts and emotions in a clear and coherent manner. 3. Creativity and Imagination: Participants will explore and enhance their creative thinking skills by incorporating imaginative elements into their letters. They will experiment with different creative mediums, such as drawings, poems, and storytelling. 4. Cultural Awareness: Students will gain an appreciation for the diversity of holiday traditions by exploring different ways people express their wishes to Santa. They will be encouraged to share their own cultural or family traditions related to the holiday season. 5. For our "Letter to Santa" flex class, learners will need the following supplies to fully engage in the creative writing activities: 1. Printer and Paper: Parents will be provided with templates, which can be printed for children to use as a guide while writing their letters to Santa; however, each activity will need to be printed. 2. Coloring Supplies: Crayons, markers, or colored pencils to add a festive touch to their letters. 3. Envelopes and Stamps: Envolvopes and stamps will be needed for learners to mail their letters.
Our "Letter to Santa" class is designed to be festive, fun, and suitable for all learners. However, given the holiday theme, we may discuss traditional beliefs around Santa Claus, which some families may approach differently. I encourage parents to share their preferences or concerns with me, ensuring that the class aligns with their values. No media content with official ratings will be used in this class. All materials and discussions will be age-appropriate and aimed at fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
