We Didn't Start the Fire Week 1: Johnnie Ray
Katrina Russell
A onetime class about Johnnie Ray. This is part of a multi-class curriculum using the topics from the Billy Joel song "We didn't start the fire".
Class Experience
I will be posting classwork every Monday at 9am EST. There will be a link to a YouTube video with my lecture on it, as this system does not allow large files to be loaded. I will also be sending along worksheets with readings, exercises, and quizzes. Johnny Ray: is a class that explores the life and career of one of the most popular American singers and songwriters of the early 1950s, Johnny Ray. This class delves deep into Ray's captivating persona, unique singing style and contribution...
I have a degree in History as well as passed my teaching test in Massachusetts. I use my love of History and facts to help children understand that history is conceived of real people who did real things. I found Social Studies class boring as a child because the teachers concentrated mostly on dates and statistics rather than the humans behind the events. I use the historical documents and primary sources to bring the past to life.
