Understanding Partial Quotient for Dividing

A session with me will include instruction on the partial quotient method for dividing

US Grade 4 - 5

Beginner - Intermediate Level

This session will cover the basics for understanding partial quotient for long division including a template.  We will begin the session by introducing the concept of partial quotients.  We will discuss how partial quotient is another strategy for long division, just like the standard algorithm.  I am very casual and let the learner take the lead, only asking facilitation questions to encourage critical thinking.  Students will need to have a basic understanding of division and multiplication.

Students will improve their understanding of long division through the partial quotient strategy.  This strategy uses easy facts and less cognitive load for multiplication fluency.

I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood/elementary education.  I have taught in the public school system for 12 years, with 7 of those years being a math interventionist.
