In this three session class, learners will read a total of three short stories, practicing note taking, highlighting, and written / oral comprehension skills.
Class Experience
This class will focus on three different short stories that will be listed below and provided by the instructor. We will be reading the short stories, together and analyzing, practicing study skills, note-taking skills, and then applying those skills to both written and oral discussions based on the exposition of the novel, character analysis, setting, insight into situations and challenges, that characters, face, plot, predictions, themes, and life lessons. A PDF will be included for each of the stories 2 to 3 days before the class begins for that week. All the materials needed will be supplied in the PDF and learners are asked not to work on the stories ahead of time, but rather bring the PDF printed and a pencil and highlighter to class, and working on the computer instead of paper is also very fine and encouraged.
