Summarizing is a valuable skill for effective essay writing. We read a short story in this class and use the 5 sentence method to create our summaries.

Summarizing is like a superhero skill for students to master, helping them to write great essays in the future. We will read a short story together and then work through the five sentence method of: "First, Next, Then, After that, and Finally". We will also explore: "Somebody, Wanted, But, So, at the End". As a homeschooling mom of an ND learner, I've developed project based learning opportunities that combine curricular expectations with specific interests. Currently working towards a Masters in Distance Learning, writing skills are my jam. I really enjoy inspiring learners to effective writing. Learner Led project based learning is where we connect with learners and inspire them to continue in their learning journey.
