NOTE: 4 Week Schedule: Week of December 18th: The Snowman Who Couldn't Melt Week of December 25th: The Orphan Who Became Rich Week of January 1st: Arthur's One Week Year Week of January 8th: Ester & The Talking Tree After the above Stories are finished the class will cycle back and add a new page to the same stories such that each time we visit one of the above stories we will be adding to their page count and world building. The Students will use two web applications: - Figma which is a website for drawing and creating shapes. - CodePen which is a website for coding HTML, CSS and Javascript. Session topics will be lead by me and focused on the life of animals. The topics will be centered around universal and family friendly topics such as Kindness, Respect, Trust, Apologizing, Sharing etc. This will prepare the group for the second phase which is actually creating our own story, designing it and making it a website. In the class sessions, we will collaboratively come up with a story about an animal in a setting. Then we will proceed with using Figma to draw the Animal and setting and bring the short story to life in. Finally we will conclude by taking the story(text) and images(designs) and building a simple website using HTML & CSS on codepen.io No supplies are necessary for participating in the classes. All web applications are free to use which include: Figma & CodePen. If you would like, you can create an account before class starts so that you are onboarded in advance. I am also a parent of 4 children so the class is designed for absolute safety and security. All artwork generated and scrutinized by myself before the Students are able to view it. I am also a Youth Director at the Church here in Columbus OH (St Mary's Eritrean Orthodox Church) and have a very high standard about producing great content for our children.
