Class Experience
The region of South Asia has a rich array of different forms of art. From paintings to architecture to textiles, there are a lot of art forms to appreciate from this part of the world! In this 4-week class, learners ages 8-11 will have the opportunity to learn about some of these art forms. I earned my BA in English from Washington University, and two Masters degrees in the Education field from Brown University and The George Washington University. I have taught learners in K-12 for over a decade in non-formal settings such as afterschool tutoring and weekend enrichment programs. In Hillsborough County, Florida, I was nominated at the SERVE Tutor of the year in 2012. I have also published poetry, magazine articles, and academic book chapters. As a South Asian woman who has taught classes for youth on South Asian culture since 2020, I’m so excited to expand the class offerings to focus on beautiful art forms from this region.
