This class can be taken as a stand-alone class or taken to build on Soft Skills for Career Success: Skills Employers Really Want! (Part 1). Dig deeper into the aptitudes and areas of proficiency for career and life success that employers want. Employers are looking for more in a potential employee than what is taught in textbooks! In this class, students will learn about and practice workplace and life skills that are crucial to help them stand out from the crowd and achieve career success....
Distinguish between hard skills and soft skills. Identify soft skills to include appropriate workplace behaviors, business etiquette and social skills, use of social media, and workplace appearance and attire. Understand the value of soft skills. Assess own proficiency with these skills. Apply and practice soft skills in job scenarios.
17 years as a business owner and training coach -I have recruited, trained, and coached approximately 200 people in business soft skills, interview skills, marketing, and employability aptitude. Speech and debate teacher and coach - I have taught elementary students through career adults the foundations of communication needed for success on the job and in life.
