Meet Per, and her cousin, Radius as they explore the Isle of Immeter and escape from a sea serpent, in this one time (flex) class on understanding the attributes of perimeter and area for squares and circles.

Class Experience

Beginning with story time, I will read "Sir Cumference and the Isle of Immeter" by Cindy Neuschwander. Then with an area video clip, we will examine the importance of perimeter and area for squares and circles. The students will then create their own version of a map of rooms and find the perimeter of those rooms. Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
