In this 8-part flex course, students will learn how to diagram sentences, which will be a great introduction or review to the parts of speech and functions of a sentence.

Class Experience

Do you remember diagramming sentences when you were a kid? It seems as though this form of learning has gotten lost in the shuffle. Diagramming sentences is an incredible way to learn more about the English language and the function of sentences. This 8-week course will help your child build foundational skills in language arts and help them to improve their writing.

I am a certified education teacher with over 16 years of experience in public schools, private education, and homeschooling. I have taught students from kindergarten to 12th grade. My passion lies in teaching grammar and writing, and I am thrilled to share this passion with my students.

Homework Offered
There will be a variety of assignments available on Google Classroom. Students will have the opportunity to diagram sentences and submit them to the teacher for feedback. 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will undergo assessment through their completed assignments. They will have opportunities to practice with Kahoot throughout the course, which will provide formative assessment. A summative assessment will be given at the end of the course.  A summative assessment will be given at the end of the course.
Grades Offered
Grades will be provided by default as assignments are turned in, which will help parents and students understand the concepts better.

For submitting assignments, students need access to a computer, prior knowledge with Google Classroom, paper, pencil, and a way to upload or scan them.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Kahoot

We will consistently utilize Google Classroom, and Kahoot games will be offered for review between lessons.
