Class Experience
By creating and modifying a paper helicopter, Sunny, the puppet, and Dr. Hamilton will teach students some key words in science and apply them (e.g. Prediction vs. Observation.) The class will learn the vocab with Dr. Hamilton then practice with Sunny. Sunny will then show everyone her paper helicopter and have the students make their own. After all students get their paper helicopter to work, Sunny and Dr. Hamilton will help them lead through a thinking process on how they could modify it...

Print outs of paper helicopter template, target, and thinking log. scissors paperclips
Parents will need to print out the helicopter pattern, target paper, and thinking log ahead of time. The students will each need around 10 paperclips (size doesn't matter) that can be used by the students and scissors. If student has a difficult time with cutting, a parent might want to stay nearby to help.
