Learners will learn the Python language through practice. They will use various algorithms to solve numerous of programming problems using loops, conditions, objects and arrays. These skills will be useful for all coding in future.

Class Experience

US Grade 5

Beginner - Intermediate Level

This class gives an introduction to Python with emphasis on practice and solving real programming problems. 
Python is a great programming language for teens to learn. 

In this class, we will start with language syntax, variables, reserved words, operations on various data types. We will then teach if conditions, for and while loops to do basic algorithms. 

We will work on real programming problems such as finding the maximum in an array, merging arrays, building nested loop structures,...

Learners will gain confidence in both the programming language as well as writing algorithms to solve common beginner level programming problems.

I'm a software engineer who has coded numerous applications and websites over the course of 20+ years. I've taught students web programming and other technical areas since many years. 
I completed my masters from Carnegie Melon in 2006 and have worked in high tech companies as an engineer and as an engineering manager until 2021.

Homework Offered
Homework:

Homework will be assigned each week and will be reminded about and encouraged. Learners who do their homework learn a lot quicker and gain the most from their class.
Homework can be sent in via messages any time during the week. 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
