Want a semester class that ends and focuses on the most important aspects of the PSAT/SAT in Reading and Writing, plus math? Need to practice questions but need a little more concept behind the question to understand it more? Maybe this format is right for you. Welcome! I have ongoing, 1:1, Flex classes for this as well if you need something structured a little differently. COST TRAINING WHAT IS DIFFERENT WITH THE SEMESTER CLASS WHAT TO EXPECT SHORTCUTS THE FIRST THING WE DO AT THE...
Besides the skills necessary to pass and score well on the PSAT and SAT, students gain knowledge in English Writing skills. The learn correct punctuation and grammar, which will help them write any paper they have. It will help them write resumes and fill out job applications in the future. They learn math skills that go back to basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry. They gain skills for reading comprehension and finding literary proof in passages. They can become better readers and the reading content on the digital test is quite interesting sometimes.
Again, I have a bachelor's degree just shy of 3 more complete ones. I have training in the SAT from someone who studied the test for years an extensively trains and tutors others in that area. I have been an Outschool teacher for a long time now and have been teaching PSAT and SAT from just about the beginning. I know my stuff. I know this test. I knew it as a paper test and I know it digitally.
Homework Offered
I provide notes and practice related to the questions. This is also where they will find extra SAT questions to do. The homework is sort of optional, but I will know if they have not looked at it. They need to look at it, so it is strongly advised. Most of it does not take much time. Literally a few minutes a day can make all the difference.Assessments Offered
I will do assessments in a variety of ways. I may ask them to explain a question to me or give them a quiz on answer structure. They may do a Kahoot. The games we play will tell me a lot. I may get them to make up a question of their own based on correct structure and they give the question to someone else to do. If there are any points I need to discuss with parents, they will hear from me, and I am avaiblele to answer questions anytime. I will also send out a note every 2 weeks to let you know of any progress.Grades Offered
Students should always have paper and writing utensils for additional notes. They should have a basic calculator. I don't use them for graphing. That is something they would need to learn from someone else. There are times to use them, however, so they should have one.
I will use videos from Khan Academy and YouTube. No accounts are needed, and I will monitor and play them for the students.
