Private Piano Lessons-Discovering the Enjoyment of Music

Class
Play
Private piano lessons are fun, relaxed, flexible, and encouraging. Weekly ongoing piano lessons building on skills by learning piano pieces of increasing difficulty while developing piano technique, sight reading, and ear training.

Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Students will learn to play piano pieces of increasing difficulty as we work through a piano repertoire book, as well as learning music theory, technique, sight reading and ear training. Private piano lessons are 1-on-1 lessons which progressively work through materials advancing with the student according to their age, abilities, and time spent practicing and learning the materials presented in lessons. If students wish to continue lessons after completing the current piano book, they can continue working through additional grade levels that build upon the previous material. More advanced students may be able to prepare for the practical and theoretical exams of The Royal Conservatory of Music if they so desire. I'm happy to answer questions regarding ongoing piano lessons.

Homework Offered
Students should practice their piano pieces for 15-30 minutes 3-4 times weekly, depending on their grade level. Usually, students work on one to two pieces of music a week unless the student requests more. The number of piano pieces depends on the student's abilities and how they like to work. More advanced students may require longer practice times as there will be more material to practice and work through.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
