In this one time class learners will be invited to explore the topic of autumn! Learners will have the opportunity to share, discuss and interact by singing autumn inspired songs, answering prompt of the day, reviewing 6 types of leaves and parts of a leaf through slides, sharing and discussing their thoughts with classmates, making an autumn inspired collage (while in class and/or on their own time) and listening to an autumn inspired book. Learners will improve their understanding of the autumn season, different types of leaves, autumn traditions around the world, expand language comprehension through engaging literature and strengthen small muscles and hand-eye coordination by creating their own collage.

Hello Outschool families! I’m Teacher Natalie and I’m a certified preschool teacher with over 15 years of classroom experience in public and private school settings. For the past 9 years I have been a Lead Teacher in a highly ranked private preschool in northern California teaching children ages 3-5 years old. I have a BA in Psychology and have completed 12 Early Childhood Development units.

Homework Offered
Gather small bunch of leaves that you may find on a walk in your neighborhood or your favorite park that your child can share during class. (optional) 0 hours per week outside of class

Prior to class I recommend the following items (if possible):

- Small collection of leaves for show and tell during class time 
- Glue, colorful markers/ crayons, some leaves and/or other art materials (to create a autumn inspired collage)

For some young children they may need some help navigating the features in Zoom and gathering various materials needed for class so some parental guidance may be necessary. I will do my best to engage all learners so they can get the most out of this circle time experience while also keeping in mind the age group and developmental stage.
