Preparing for a field in Digital Media
In this 8 week course, Students will learn the roles of the Media Industry and gain the skills required for employment.
Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 11
Beginner - Intermediate Level
I use the Arizona blueprint for instruction in Digital Communication as a guide for this course. We will work through the 4 domains of Production, Pre-Production, Post-Production, and Media History. I will be using a Windows computer for this course but Mac will work as well. We will explore the following topics: 1. What is Digital Media and how is relevant in the industry. To ensure effective tutoring, the teacher suggests meeting 2x per week. Book additional recurring meetings after the initial purchase.
In addition to the above topics and domains, students can look forward to having fund creating projects in Adobe Platforms while learning other software along the way. By the end of the course, students will feel confident to look for employment in the Media Industry and/or become an entrepreneur or start their own business.
I have owned my own Web Design and Marketing agency for the past 10 years. I have also taught in the high school and college level for over 15 years in Digital Media and Marketing. I ran DECA, FBLA, SkillsUSA. I ran the school news production and the student store during my time as an educator.
