In this on-going group, we will cover various biology topics covered in the UK national curriculum for science KS3 (Pre-GCSE).
Class Experience
We will be following the UK national curriculum for science KS3 (Pre-GCSE) adding to our knowledge every week, starting with the cells topic (week starting 8th Jan 2024), then moving through the topics in the following order; Skeletal and muscular systems (week starting 4th March 2024); Nutrition and digestion (week starting 15th April); Gas exchange systems (date TBC); Reproduction and Health (Date TBC); Photosynthesis (date TBC); Respiration (Date TBC); Ecosystems (Date TBC);...

The aims of the UK national curriculum for science aims to ensure that all pupils: • develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology. • develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them. • are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.
Since 2016, I have trained as a Secondary Science teacher in the UK, gained qualified teacher status and have been working in various secondary schools around Cambridgeshire, teaching English as an additional language in Science and SEN students throughout my teaching career.
Homework Offered
Optional homework can be offered if requested- each task will only be 10-15 minutes of work and will be once per topic, homework will be self assessed during the lesson.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Age appropriate sexual health and reproductive topics will be taught in line with the UK national curriculum for science. Any mini practicals have all been risk assessed and have very low/ no risks associated, however it is expected that all practicals/ experiments are conducted with adult supervision (if required). We will be using various quizzes and online resources throughout the lessons, the use of these resources is for either on-screen sharing or student self-assessment, so no gamer tags need to be submitted (please see materials for more information on these resources).
