In this 8 class course, we will learn phonemic awareness and phonics skill. These are the basics of reading and writing.

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner - Intermediate Level
During this 8-week course, we will work on phonemic and phonics skills. We will start by 7-10 minutes if phonemic awareness. These are skills that can be learned in the dark. Beginning sounds, ending sounds, medial sounds, rhymes, syllables, counting words in a sentence, etc. The learn a new high frequency word. This will be about 2-3 minutes. Then we will learn the skill of the week (I.e. digraphs, blends, etc.). I will give examples and work on words together. Then this will be...
Students will improve their understand of basic reading and writing skills.
I have a bachelors degree in elementary education and early childhood education, as well as endorsements in literacy and K through eight reading.
