In this one time class, your student will learn how to write or tell an opinion response in an organized way.

Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5

Beginner Level

By the end of this class, students will be able to formulate a well supported opinion response for their next speech, essay, or debate. This is a simple formula to follow, that will help any student be successful in giving their thoughts over a topic. I currently teach 5th grade in a public school setting, and my responsibility is teaching only English Language Arts and Writing. I have also taught 3rd grade ELA and writing instruction. My experience in childhood education has lasted almost 15 years.

Homework Offered
Students will be asked to give their opinion over a certain topic as an exit ticket. This will take place after our modeled and group instruction. They will not have homework after their class ends, but they should continue to use this opinion strategy as they give their opinion in other settings. 
Assessments Offered
I will assess the students learning by giving them an exit ticket towards the end of the class. This will require them to give a well supported opinion, using the strategy given within the lesson.

Learners will need some paper and a pencil only.
