Over the course of my ongoing class, students will learn: Number Sense: Place value, comparing, rounding, factors, multiples Multiplication: one and two digit, mult. of 10, etc. Division: one digit, long division, mult. of 10 Properties and Mixed Operations: Order of Operations (PEMDAS), distributive property Fractions: Mixed, Improper, area model, number line, comparing, equivalent, etc., add, subtract, multiply Decimals: Decimal place value, comparing, decimals and fractions Geometry: Lines, angles, measurements, area, perimeter, shapes, symmetry Data and Measurement: Plots, metric and customary units
With over 15 years teaching experience, I specialize in teaching math in academic and playbased ways. I taught upper grades as a licensed teacher for 5 years before starting a family. I have a Masters in Education and Leadership and was a principal for a time. I have extensive experience training other teachers, especially in the areas of technology use for teaching. I tutor and teach math groups in my home weekly.
