After 4 weeks students will: 1) Understand whats is meant by intensity and how to apply this to their training 2) Learn how to train without weights and be creative 3) The different muscle groups and how to activate them with training routines 4) How to design their own weekly routine to improve strength and conditioning
I am a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, a active competitive Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu black belt and retired MMA fighter. I have a bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and a certified high school teacher. Currently finishing my Masters in Psychology.
Homework Offered
Students will be expected to: 1) illustrate their workout exercises on a short video clip (alternatively explain their successes/difficulties in writing if students do not like being on video) 2) Interact in class by asking questions to clarify tasks1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Assessments would be formative and summative formative assessment is looking at the short video clips of students and giving feedback or responding to their written feedback assessing their intensity, rep range, and exercise form.Grades Offered
Grades in the form of praise will be given for effort and resilience
Resistance bands would be needed as this is our main resistance equipment. 5lbs-80lbs minimum or higher is better depending on price.
Learners will need a space free of obstacles to go through their training routines. I recommend all learners provide a short clip of their routine so teacher can assess their form for safety and to avoid the risk of injury. This can be sent privately to the teacher if preferred. I also recommend parents supervise their activity. Comfortable clothing and suitable footwear is recommended.
