Day 1: Resolving to Code in the New Year As the New Year dawns, we introduce students to Scratch and their resolution to learn coding. This day focuses on foundational game design skills. They'll set up sprites, create backgrounds, and understand the basic mechanics essential for their coding journey. Algorithmic Thinking: Encourage logical, step-by-step thinking for problem-solving and task completion within game design using Scratch. Computational Creativity: Fostering innovation and creativity by applying computational thinking to create unique game designs. Interactive Design: Developing the ability to design and implement interactive elements, enhancing user engagement within their games. Problem-Solving Skills: Cultivating resilience in debugging and troubleshooting, aiding students in identifying and rectifying errors within their game designs. Collaborative Coding: Encouraging teamwork, idea-sharing, and peer collaboration, allowing students to collectively solve coding challenges and enhance their game projects.
