Mixed Media Art Class

Class
Play
In this non-building art class, we combine different art mediums weekly. By using familiar art mediums and learning new skills, your learner will learn to experiment and build confidence in their artistic potential!

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn to combine different art mediums while growing their art skills. Students will also learn about the history of the art techniques taught in class.
I am a practicing artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art and a certificate in Digital Arts & Media from the University of Texas at Austin. I also received a Masters degree in Museum & Heritage Studies from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. I am an exhibited artist and history buff! While working in museums, I have learned to share my knowledge with others in exhibits, lectures and workshops. I am passionate about making connections between art history and current art techniques in my classes.
Homework Offered
Assessments Offered
I will provide constructive feedback to learners if requested but no formal assessment is required.
Grades Offered
Each week we will work with new mediums. I will contact you after signing up with which mediums are required for the session and also post them on the class page. I aim to use materials that most students have easy access to and materials can almost always be substituted for others.

A good starting list for this class is as follows:
- Paper
- Pen
- Pencil
- Paint (could be watercolor or acrylic)
- Magazine or newspaper (we will be cutting this up!)
- Eraser
- Marker
- non-toxic glue
- Found plant material
- Scissors
