Class Experience
This is a 1:1 tutoring session with a certified math teacher. The session is designed to alleviate math anxiety and to promote confidence in math - Math Without Tears! The instructor assesses the skill level of the student and utilizes data to foster student achievement. The class in interactive and addresses the individual needs of the student. The instructor utilizes slides and games to engage students in activities. Students have ample opportunity to practice skills and procedures...
This class is taught in English.
The goal of the session is for students to grow in their mathematical abilities and in their confidence. The content of 1:1 tutoring is individualized to meet the needs of each student. I lay the foundation to close gaps or I can accelerate content for advanced learners. The objective is to meet students where they are at in their understanding of mathematics - the process may look a little differently for each child.
I have taught math for 21 years - 9 of those have been virtual! I am currently a math intervention specialist and work with students in PreK-12th grade.
