🎯Students will be able to understand the importance of citations and the different types 🎯Students will be able to use parenthetical citations using MLA format 🎯Students will be able to use in text citations using MLA format 🎯Students will be able to create a bibliography using MLA format 👩🏼🏫Common Core Standards Aligned: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.8.8 Gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, using search terms effectively; assess the credibility and accuracy of each source; and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarism and following a standard format for citation.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and have taught English Language Arts for a decade.

🎯Formative Assessments: Students will be asked to answer questions, work in pairs, and show their work throughout the lesson for assessment. 🎯Summative Assessments: Each class will have a final summative assessment where students are asked to demonstrate mastery of the lesson's skill by creating their own citations or bibliography. They will be graded using proficiency scales as follows on the Common Core Standard CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W8.8 on the following scale with a written commentary: 1=With help approaching grade level standard 2=Approaching grade level standard 3=Independently meets grade level standard 4=Exceeds grade level standardGrades Offered
