Learn to Read With Dr. Seuss
This class explores the wonderful writings of Dr. Seuss. They will enjoy a selection from one of his books like "Cat In The Hat" and begin learning the basics of reading. Join this engaging 30 minute class and have FUN learning to READ.

Beginner Level
The class will have small, in-class exercises that do not require any extra materials besides their voice. For the safety of all learners, the device's camera must be ON for the duration of class. The story time will last from 20-25 minutes and class duration will ask beginner alphabet questions, lettering, numbers (1-20), story context questions, shapes, along with other Dr. Seuss- related questions to engage Learners during class time. Learners will be learning their ABC's, 123's and more in a relaxed style with the help of Dr. Seuss Stories. I will help them build a foundation of beginner reading skills. They will learn letter identification and sound through small exercises at the beginning of class like "what is the first letter of your first name?" This can teach them letter and number ordering (first, second, third, etc.). Learner will be asked about certain letters or numbers throughout the book asking to hold up fingers to show the number asked or to trace a letter in the air. I will also teach basic sign language which would be at the beginning of class before the story. Expressions like "Thank You", "Goodbye", "Hello", and the alphabet are included. Other Nursery Rhymes will be introduced along with other ASL signs and more brilliant Dr. Seuss stories. Each will be some new, short exercises like the ones described above along with a Dr. Seuss story. The stories will be on a 6-8 week rotation.
I am an avid reader, have 3 years of college on record, I am a home educator, and love volunteering with Girl Scouts. I love teaching kids and working with them to build skills to help them lead their best life.
