In this 10-week online course, students will progress to the level of Beginner in the Japanese language. This class focuses primarily on speaking and listening skills. However, the writing system will be introduced in our first lesson. Class members will meet 1 time per week. I lived in Japan for 2 years. I have studied the language extensively and speak Japanese at an intermediate level. I also have experience teaching languages.
Homework Offered
Students will be expected to practice their assigned Japanese phrases between class meetings. Each week we will learn 10-20 words or short phrases (the longer the phrases, the less will be assigned). At the beginning of class the following week, an informal, verbal quiz will be given to assess the students' practice at home.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
