By the end of the four lessons, students will achieve the following class goals: 1. Establish a robust foundation in the art of outlining. 2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of pre-writing processes. 3. Cultivate confidence in composing well-structured paragraphs. The overarching objective is to equip students with principles that transcend specific subjects, enabling them to confidently apply their newfound skills in any learning environment.
With over 15 years of teaching and coaching experience, I have combined the best elements of my favorite writing programs to deliver a captivating beginning writing class. As a proud parent of three and a Registered Writing Instructor with IEW, I believe in making writing enjoyable, emphasizing creativity, and fostering a supportive environment for students to celebrate their strengths and overcome challenges. Armed with a degree in sociology from the University of Washington, I bring a unique understanding of human dynamics.
Homework Offered
Each video lesson will be accompanied by a corresponding work packet for students. It is recommended that students print out the packet before watching the video lessons. The packet serves as a tool for completing weekly learning assignments. Assignments for Lessons 1 and 2 are expected to take approximately 10-30 minutes each, while assignments for Lessons 3 and 4 may require 20-60 minutes each. Students have the option to submit their completed assignments through the Outschool platform in the "Teacher" tab for feedback..1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

I'm delighted to review outlines and papers, offering positive feedback. My focus is on assessing whether students are following the process presented in class.
