Students will increase their understanding of Mendelian Genetics by carrying out monohybrid and dihybrid crosses to determine Genotype and phenotype ratios for F-1 generation.

I am a board certified New Jersey Biology teacher with adequate training and expertise to teach high school Biology. I have bachelors degree in Biology, a masters in Science Education and a PhD in educational leadership. In addition, I have over five years experience working in drug discovery and development. I am currently involved in research studies to improve curriculum in the area of Humane Genetics.
During the study of Genetics, we will discuss Genetic disorders which may be sensitive to students. I have sufficient training on how to teach these topics in a manner that is inclusive and respectful of students that may be affected by a genetic disorder. As a parent of a special needs child, I know the importance of being sensitive to learners that may have a disability that may be a result of Genetics.

Formative assessments during the lesson, letter grades will be assigned to students using a point system.
Students will also do online quizzes for practice to reinforce concepts. Students may also be asked to explain concepts to the teacher as part of the class participation.
Grades Offered
Grades will be provided by default for all learners.

We will use Miller & Levine Biology as our core textbook for this course.
