Intro to Special Effects Makeup, Ambassador MUAs

Aspiring makeup artists (MUA's), theatre students, and cosplay enthusiasts learn how to use common household products to create realistic special effects looks. (Class will not cancel if class size has not been met)
Class Experience
Intro to Special Effects provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring makeup artists to experiment with SFX makeup with little to no investment. This special class utilizes common household items that are easily acquired at your local drugstore. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about SFX makeup. After this class, we encourage students to join one of our SFX Camps or Masterclasses to take their SFX makeup skills to the next level! Intro to Special Effects...
By the end of this class, student MUA's will have created their own SFX makeup look and will have learned valuable SFX makeup techniques that they can continue to grow by expanding into more technical applications using professional SFX products and tools.
Homework Offered
Students are encouraged to share photos of their finished look. For those interested in expanding their SFX skills, please check out our SFX Camp and Masterclasses.Assessments Offered

1 file available upon enrollmentPlease come to class prepared. Students will need a clean, well lit, prepared space with a mirror to create their look. A supply list is provided in the classroom. Please ensure you have all the materials ready to begin. In addition to the materials in the supply list, students will also need a small mixing bowl, something to stir it with, and a mirror.
Students must come to class wearing a shirt. Please be aware that makeup artists often utilize their neck as a canvas for bodypaint. You may wear a sleeveless shirt for these looks. Special effects makeup imagery may be disturbing to some. Parental supervision is advised. While this class does not utilize liquid latex products, please be aware that anytime anything is applied to the skin there is a risk of a reaction. Please be aware of possible allergy concerns.
