In this 10 week course, I will guide the cellist with one-on-one lessons focuses on consistently making the best sound possible on the cello, basic music theory and history with the goal of preparing a piece to perform.

Class Experience

Advanced Level
the basics of how the cello works, left hand and bow exercises, sightreading, standard and unconviental pieces written or arranged for the cello, how to be good stewards of the cello as a performer and audience member
Homework Offered
I structure the lesson to mirror the individual practice session. So whatever we do in the lesson, that is what and how to practice. Pick three days in the week to practice and do what we did in the lesson. Easy as that! With zoom recording the lessons, there is no excuse to not remember what was covered in the lessons. I also encourage playing a piece/passage three times in a row correctly before moving on the next passage/piece or ending your practice session.
2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I encourage all cellists to perform and share their work in recital or studio class before graduating to the next level/piece/book, but it's not required. I encourge cellist to record themselves for comments, but not required.
Grades Offered
cello & bow in good working order, tuner or tuning app, music stand, pencil, paper
