In this on-going Spanish immersion class, students will while they attempt to solve as many challenging math questions as possible related to math content found in grades 3-5.

Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5

Intermediate Level

What will be taught:
The impossible questions chosen will put to use multiplication, adding, subtractive, multi-step operations, fractions, decimals, and place value at age appropriate levels for 3rd-5th grade standards.  

Structure of class:
3 min introductions of group.
5-10 min impossible question number 1
5-10 min impossible question number 2
5 min closure activity

How will I teach/teaching style:
The class is very interactive.  Teacher will use context clues to keep the group speaking...

This class is taught in Spanish.

The learning goals of the students is to strengthen foundational operations and math standards for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.  Additionally, through doing the challenging questions, students will attempt to find patterns in the math problems.

I am an 18th year world language teacher with a specialization in language acquisition.  I am currently a 4th grade spanish immersion teacher who teaches math and science 100% in spanish.
