In this one-time Flex class, students will learn about contemporary artist Jen Aranyi's art style and complete a painting of a mountain scene with a watercolor sky.

Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7

Beginner - Intermediate Level

**PLEASE NOTE** This is a FLEX class and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page.
This class will be presented via powerpoint and a pre-recorded demonstration drawings. Students will engage in questions, class discussions on the classroom tab, assignments and be part of an artist critique, which will be guided by the instructor.

As a veteran art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.

Paper (watercolor paper or other heavy paper, such as Bristol, strongly recommended due to the fact that we will be painting with watercolors)
Pencils, sharpener, eraser
Black permanent marker for outlining (permanent is important; water-based marker lines will wash into the watercolor): Sharpie brand, Micron, or similar work great for this project.
Watercolors. These can be in the pan, such as Crayola, or tubes...whatever you have will work!
Paint brushes
Cup of water
Paper towels
newspapers or other way to protect table/workspace while painting.
