Join us on a serene journey into the Green Zone, where we'll explore the realms of calmness and happiness. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of "I Am Peace" by Susan Verde as we delve into mindfulness and embark on a guided meditation to cultivate a sense of peace and happiness.

1. Mindfulness and Emotional Well-Being: Develop an understanding of mindfulness and its role in promoting emotional well-being, fostering a sense of calmness and happiness in young learners.

2. Recognition of Calm Expressions: Learn to identify facial expressions and body language associated with the Green Zone (calm and happy), enhancing emotional intelligence and the ability to recognize and embrace positive emotions.

I am a licensed elementary educator with over 7 years of experience teaching all core subjects in K-2, including social emotional learning topics. I have my Master's in Curriculum & Instruction from The Ohio State University, focusing on creative learning methodologies. I held instructional coaching and mentor teacher positions at my previous school focusing on social emotional learning and literacy enhancement. I have a passion for helping students find success in and out of the classroom with emotional literacy!

Before diving into the enriching content of this class, I want to assure parents that our discussions will not be therapeutic in nature. I understand that families have varying comfort levels around certain subjects. Students will be exposed to emotional literacy vocabulary and make connections with book characters, building comprehension and emotional intelligence.
