Sadness Management Strategies: Acquire age-appropriate strategies to navigate and thaw frozen feelings of sadness, empowering young learners with practical tools for emotional well-being. 3. Creative Expression and Empathy: Cultivate a compassionate and supportive environment for creative expression, allowing students to explore and share what helps unfreeze their sadness, fostering empathy and understanding among peers.
I am a licensed elementary educator with over 7 years of experience teaching all core subjects in K-2, including social emotional learning topics. I have my Master's in Curriculum & Instruction from The Ohio State University, focusing on creative learning methodologies. I held instructional coaching and mentor teacher positions at my previous school focusing on social emotional learning and literacy enhancement. I have a passion for helping students find success in and out of the classroom with emotional literacy!

I understand that families have varying comfort levels around certain subjects. Students will be exposed to emotional literacy vocabulary and make connections with book characters, building comprehension and emotional intelligence.
