In this student-led class, your child will practise their English language skills developing their fluency, pronunciation and overall confidence as an English learner.

Class Experience

Intermediate - Advanced Level

Thank you for choosing this private 1:1 English language lesson.  As a native (British) English speaker and certified TEFL teacher, I am excited to help each learner develop their English language skills and improve their overall fluency.

This lesson will be designed and tailored around each child’s interests and individual needs based on their current level of English.  Every lesson is interactive: I use a variety of age-appropriate activities to engage students and to make learning English...

The goal and focus of the lesson will vary according to each student and specific parental requests.

In general, lesson goals will be based on the following: 
*Developing fluency and pronunciation 
*Teaching new vocabulary
*Developing grammar through verbal and written practice and interactive games
*Reading acquisition - sight recognition of new vocabulary words and pronunciation practice
*Listening skills - interpreting what they have heard
*Writing skills - writing words, sentences or paragraphs with greater accuracy (depending on the age/level of your learner)

BA (Hons) Degree in Primary Education with English Specialism			
Level 5 TEFL Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) -  168 hours (accredited by Qualifi) 
Teaching English Online Course -  1 to 1 (30 hours)				
20+ Years experience as a qualified UK Primary Teacher, delivering lessons in person and online
Experienced Private Tutor (face-to-face)

Your learner will be assessed through observations, quizzes and informal assessments during class.  I will use these observations to identify areas to work on in future lessons.

Kahoot! is a 3rd Party App (a quiz-based interactive game). This is an optional interactive resource to help engage your learner.  If you wish your child to have access to these interactive quizzes, you will need to visit www.kahoot.com and create a free account for them.  

If applicable, I may use age-appropriate short video clips from YouTube to develop your learner’s experience of different British accents (e.g. British Council ESL resources).  These will only be used as a screen-share activity, kept within the Outschool platform.

Please note that these resources will only be used with your consent.

I will be using materials carefully sourced from paid ESL subscriptions/curriculum websites, my own created resources, props and everyday objects - based on the age and interests of your learner.
