Please note: This class picks up where Early Intermediate Piano Level S leaves off. Prospective students should be familiar with major and minor triads/scales and one-octave arpeggios. Sight reading music is essential to this class so prospective students should be comfortable with reading music in the Level 4 Piano Adventures series (material from Level S). In this class, students will explore the circle of 5ths, cadences and three minor scale forms. Students will use octaves, arpeggios and develop phrasing in pieces by Clementi and other composers.
I have been teaching piano for over 13 years. I have a Master's Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's Degree of Art in Music. I am a touring musician and have just released my second solo album.
Homework Offered
2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will offer feedback after students perform an exercise and, if needed, provide suggestions to help the student master the concept. Mistakes are a part of learning a musical instrument! So students should not worry if they play the exercise or a piece correct on the first try. Together we will learn how to progress through new music and learn new musical concepts.Grades Offered
