With a Bachelor's and Master's degree, complemented by specialized training in literacy education, I am well-prepared to lead this captivating class. My educational background, combined with a passion for storytelling and culinary arts, uniquely positions me to guide students through the enchanting world of fables intertwined with the art of bread-making. I am dedicated to fostering an engaging learning environment, where young minds explore the magic of storytelling, extract valuable lessons from fables, and delight in the hands-on experience of crafting bread. My goal is to provide each learner with a personalized and enjoyable journey, nurturing their creativity and curiosity as they embark on this delightful adventure.
Homework Offered
Each week, students will receive a PDF of an engaging short story to read and immerse themselves in. Alongside the story, students will receive worksheets to complete, enhancing their understanding and comprehension skills. Additionally, students are encouraged to showcase their creativity in the kitchen by baking their version of the bread inspired by the weekly lesson. Capture a photo of your homemade bread and share it with the class! Feel free to also share any helpful tips or tricks you discovered during the baking process to support and inspire your classmates. Let's explore the world of stories and baking together!1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners who share photos of their weekly bread creations will be awarded a certificate of participation.Grades Offered
A full list of ingredients will be provided each week. Reading materials will be provided and worksheets will need to be printed.
Parental supervision while baking is required, learners will need supervision whilst operating the oven and taking baking trays in and out of the oven. All recipes can be mixed by hand, an electric mixer will not be required. Allergen advice - All recipes use self raising flour which contains wheat (gluten) - you may substitute this for gluten free self raising flour. Please note that printing of worksheets will be required.
