In this class, students will develop early Science, Technology, Engineering and Math skills through literacy and hands-on learning.
Class Experience
US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
Each week for 3 weeks, students will listen to a story that relates to the theme of the month. Students will practice early science, technology, engineering and math concepts that relate to the story through a few short hands-on activities. Then they will be introduced to a STEM challenge that relates to the story. The entire session is interactive and hands-on....no blank staring at a screen here! Science skills include: Observing and describing properties of materials, recording observations and sharing ideas through models or drawings, and asking questions to gather more information. Math skills include: counting, symmetry, writing and recognizing numbers, and cardinality. Engineering skills include: Engineering Design Process (ask, plan, build, test, evaluate, improve), critical thinking, problem solving, perseverance.
