As parents, your child's safety and well-being are paramount. While we will explore the rich, imaginative world of Dungeons & Dragons, we want to assure you that our discussions are carefully moderated to ensure age-appropriate content. The realm of D&D can sometimes involve themes of fantasy-based conflict and mythical creatures, which may be perceived as scary or violent. We handle these topics with sensitivity and aim to frame them in a way that encourages constructive discussions around problem-solving, ethical decision-making, and the distinction between fantasy and reality-- while also making sure to emphasize that the actions of our characters' are not fully divorced from reality. Our experienced teachers are skilled at guiding conversations to ensure they remain suitable for teen audiences, focusing on the positive aspects of storytelling, creativity, and teamwork. Your child's emotional comfort and safety in our club are our top priority.

Below are our general classroom rules and policies. These will also be explained to students when we begin class!

-For everyone's safety, and to ensure an engaging and social experience, 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀, 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. Please be sure to prepare your student for this requirement before class begins!

-Students are asked not to use filters or virtual backgrounds-- though if there is an important reason to use a virtual background, please just let me know ahead of time that your student will be using one (no questions asked!).

-Students will be asked to introduce themselves by sharing their name, pronoun, and a favorite book.

-The Zoom text chat is set to "host only", meaning students can chat with me, but not to one another or the entire classroom.
