This book deals with adult and sensitive themes - Homoerotic imagery used to depict a homophobic view of moral depravity - Moral ambiguity - Antisemitic depictions - Sexist depictions of women - Romantic depictions of suicide (like Romeo and Juliette) - Threats of murder and violence - Death - Vivid description of murder including sounds, flailing arms, and blood * These areas will be approached with maturity, sensitivity, care, and as a learning opportunity * It should be noted that I cannot control the perspectives of all members of the class, however, I will hold students to respect for and acceptance of their peers
