I've lived in and travelled to many countries around the world. I want to share all of the things I've experienced in my life about Christmas traditions with your learners. I have a Master's Degree in Sociology and have been studying world cultures for over 20 years. I've done extensive research to create these classes and created all of the materials for my class myself, with original artwork. This class is not a deep dive into these cultures, but we will hit on Christmas themes, making sure to look at the cultures from many perspectives.

Christmas traditions in general can be a sensitive topic due to religion and different cultures. We will be looking at Christmas traditions from a secular point of view, making sure to look at the traditions from multiple different perspectives around the world. Also, I know that sometimes Christmas discussions can be tricky due to talking about presents they want to receive, or have received, but I will keep this conversation focused on traditions in order to prevent this dilemma.
Students will receive a PDF packet each class with all of the information for class. There are readings and activities for each country, as well as crafts. Also, students are given a PDF with mini-books for each country that they can create as well. The class packet is based on my first-hand accounts, and many primary and secondary sources especially depending on the country. Some of the main sources are: National Geographic National Geographic Kids www.history.com United Nations DW News Google Earth Google Maps Goode's World Atlas BBC Scholastic Books Flagpedia Kids World Travel Guide
