In this multi-day class, the learners will use different drawing techniques to create a different Christmas-inspired drawing each day.

Class Experience

Would you rather draw a picture or play a game? In this class, you can do both.  You will learn a little about drawing techniques while we socialize. Prepare your reactions and questions in case a game of Would You Rather breaks out. 
During this multi-day drawing class, the learner will have the opportunity to practice basic skills in drawing using a pencil while creating a Christmas-themed drawing. If they would like to add color to their pictures, they are welcome to do so. Creativity is...

The learners will practice using various drawing techniques to create a different Christmas-inspired picture during each meeting. They will also practice using the elements of art in their drawings. The elements of art include line, shape, value, dimension, texture, space, color, and form. The learners will be encouraged to explore their creativity in the composition of the artwork being created.

I have been an educator for over 30 years. During this time, I have taught children in grades K-5. I have taught all academic subjects as well as Art and STEM. I am a self-taught artist.

The learners will be assessed informally throughout class based on their participation and the virtual art gallery.

Drawing Paper or Sketchbook
Pencil
Eraser
Color Pencils, markers, or crayons (optional)
Straight edge or ruler 
Tissue (without lotion or aloe), cotton swab, or smudge sticks
If the learner wishes to add color to their drawings, colored pencils, markers, or crayons can be used

The learners will be determining some of the topics of conversation as well as some of the elements of their art. We may play Would You Rather? to help promote socialization. The learners will also be determining what is drawn in each class meeting within the theme of Christmas.
