In this ongoing social skills class, learners will engage in three different levels of conversation starters for a game-based approach to increasing executive functioning through social conversations on topic.

Class Experience

Students will be able to focus on specific conversation topics, answer questions orally on topic, listen to other student responses and respond appropriately and on-topic as well. We will build conversational skills such as being an active listener, respecting the speaker and waiting our turn to speak.
I have 24 years in special education and hold a licensure for specific learning disabilities. I teach executive functioning and social skills classes in a traditional setting and will use the question sets I use successfully in my own classroom.
Homework Offered
Assessments Offered
This class is game-based and students will be given points according to their responses in a competition to "beat the teacher" approach. students will be rewarded for their social interactions as they grow throughout the course.
Grades Offered
none needed, but some students do like to have paper and pencil on hand to jot notes about conversations.
All questions are age and developmentally appropriate for learners and do not approach controversial topics.
