This Crash Course is 5 Sessions: 1. Rules and Foundations 2. Opening Principles 3. Middle Game Tactics 4. Endgame Patterns 5. In session 2, 3, and 4 students will learn best practice in each part of a chess game (beginning, middle, and endgame), finally the last lesson teaches a fun trick for how to beat unsuspecting opponents in four moves. Objective: Students will deepen their knowledge of Chess in the areas of Opening Principles, Middlegame Tactics, and common Checkmate patterns. Success Criteria: -Students will have a deeper understanding of Chess foundations -Students will learn the 3 main principles to starting a game. -Students will learn the 5 best tactics to gaining an advantage in the Middle Game -Students will learn 3 common Checkmate Patterns for the endgame. -Students will learn how to attack with and defend against the Scholar's Mate
