I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Alaska Southeast as well as a teaching certificate grades K-8 from the state of Alaska. I have taught for 11 years as a math teacher and have incorporated art into my math classes and electives. I have a minor in art from my undergraduate degree, and have been self-employed on the side as an artist and photographer for many years. Origami is something I've loved incorporating into my math classes, helping students see the overlap between math and art in our natural world.
