In this STEAM lesson students will identify and measure acute, obtuse and right angles as well as investigate symmetry while they build their own beautiful snowflake models.

Class Experience

US Grade 4
Students will learn the characteristics of a snowflake, basic protractor skills, the definition for three different types of angles, and the definition of symmetry.
I have had the pleasure of teaching this fun lesson to students in the science classroom and during family STEAM and science night events over the course of my 20-year teaching career. With over 40 years of New England winters under my belt I have a deep love and appreciation for the math and beauty of the snowflake!
