Adventures in Grammar aims to help students improve their basic understanding of English Conventions. Each week, we will cover a different skill and practice through creative writing, games, and activities! At the beginning of the class, we will do a mini lesson on each subject. Students will improve their understanding of English Conventions, which include, but are not limited to, spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, etc.
As a 6th grade English Language Arts teacher, I am teaching these topics daily at school! My students practice grammar as soon as they come in to the classroom every day and we are always writing! I am also a Digital Learning Leader in my district and love using various technology in the classroom!

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will be uploading notes/PowerPoints, in class practice, and practice work for outside of class to Google Classroom and Google Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Jamboard, etc.). You or your student will need a Google Account to join. I will share the Class Code at the beginning of each class. Students will not be able to communicate with each other on this platform, it is simply used as a place for students to complete their work so that I can check in with them on their progress. This will mostly be used in class, but as I said, I will upload practice assignments and worksheets that your student can work on throughout the week. We will also be using Kahoot to play games in class to review topics we have learned.
