In this single flex class, we will examine Tangrams! Reading "Grandfather Tang's Story," while creating the images with their own set of tangrams, the student will gain an understanding of fractions and ignite the imagination for writing.
Class Experience
This will be an examination of tangrams, an introduction to fractions, and igniting the imagination for students to write their own tangram story after the class. Class will begin with reading "Grandfather Tang's Story." Each student will have their own set of tangrams (printable provided before class begins). Hello from Texas! Although I am currently residing in Texas, we move quite often and that has allowed me to have many different types of career experiences. I have tutored privately and through well-known organizations; taught in the public school classroom setting with a self-contained classroom (including 4th grade and Texas History); substituted and interned in private school classroom settings; instructed at the community college level (History); assisted with museum operations; and homeschooled my three munchkins. I have worked with early education all the way up to the community college level. My Bachelors is in childhood education with a Master's in American History.
