Class Experience
US Grade 2 - 5
In this semester long flex reading comprehension and skills class, I will focus on reading comprehension, fluency, and reading comprehension skills. This course will teach them about reading to understand material and comprehend what they are reading. I will teach your student a reading strategy "RUTHIE" that will help them with comprehension, summarizing, understanding main idea, and how to answer reading comprehension questions from a passage. Your student will gain further knowledge, foundation in reading comprehension, more confidence, and a firmer understanding of how to comprehend what they are reading and navigate how to find answers and answer reading comprehension based questions.
I have been teaching this strategy for the past four years. I have been in the classroom setting for four years teaching grade 2nd-5th teaching all subjects consisting of: math, reading, history, science, spelling, and grammar. I also have masters course work in elementary education.
